Nicholas Calder and Francesca Calder

Hey everyone! It’s great to have you here!

My name is Nicholas, but you can call me Nick.

I run TomatoHeadquarters.com.

I’m a big foodie, which is probably one of the main reasons I fell so quickly for my wife. She makes the most amazing food, and she learned quickly that food was the way to my heart.

When trying out new recipes, we always found that store-bought food went bad quickly, was of a terrible quality, and just didn’t taste that great in recipes. We soon switched to organic produce, but I knew in the back of my mind I wanted to try growing my own food that my wife could incorporate into her recipes.

We are lucky enough to have a huge backyard, with a few acres around. When we bought the house, I knew I wanted to do something different with it. I know for myself, I wanted to try my hand at gardening, and planting my own fruits and veggies seemed like the right idea.

I started with just a few patches, but the more fun I had with it, the more the patches expanded. I soon roped in the whole family to help out.

We upgraded to a greenhouse, and now spend most of our free time tending to our gardens, with fruit trees, berry trees, and even some herbs and vegetable patches.

I love nothing more than taking the kids out and getting them involved with the whole process, and they just love our home-grown strawberries and tomatoes. It has become a family pastime to go out and harvest the food, reaping the rewards of all of our hard work!

With our articles, you can start growing your own food just like we have! As long as you have the determination, the drive, and a little patience- you can start enjoying the delicious taste of home-grown food in your own recipes.

Hello! Welcome to our site, TomatoHeadquarters.com.

I’m Francesca, wife of Nicholas.

For my entire career, I have been a professional chef. I have worked in so many different restaurants, and have loved curating my own dishes and recipes that everyone can enjoy.

One of the biggest challenges I have faced in my career is having poor quality produce and ingredients. The ingredients can take a good meal to a bad one, and a chef cannot work without the right tools!

Some of the places I have worked in the past have tried to cut corners, ordering cheaper supplies and ingredients to save a few bucks. But the difference in flavor and quality is astronomical.

I have always tried to source organic ingredients wherever I have worked, and gone to farmers markets and stalls to find the finest options for my customers.

When we bought this beautiful house, and all of the land that came with it, I knew we could put my passion for food to work. My husband loves growing our fruits and vegetables, and we are now one of the suppliers for my restaurant.

Food just tastes better when it is grown with care, attention, and a little bit of love.
